Are you the person who sees a racing moment and instantly knows how it should live on TikTok?
Racing.com is looking for a Social Content Producer to join our Content & Distribution team: a hands on creator who can turn live racing into fast, engaging, platform-native content that stops the scroll.
This hands-on creator role suits someone who can clip, shoot, edit and post quickly, especially during live racing moments. You’ll create social content across Racing.com, Racing Victoria, Spring Racing Carnival, Off The Track, Winning Post and Best Bets, helping grow reach, engagement and audience connection.
About the Role
As our Social Content Producer, you’ll be right at the centre of Racing.com’s social output.
You’ll take the energy of live racing, including the finishes, reactions, behind-the-scenes moments, personalities, atmosphere and stories, and turn them into content built for the platform it lives on.
A big part of this role is understanding what works on TikTok. We’re looking for someone who genuinely lives and breathes TikTok: someone who understands trends, audio, pacing, hooks, editing styles, platform language and what makes people watch, share and come back for more. The PD requires strong working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook and X, as well as the ability to create platform-native short-form content.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Clipping, editing and repurposing live broadcast into short-form social content across Racing.com and Racing Victoria Group channels.
- Creating multiple versions of key racing moments for different platforms, including vertical, square and widescreen formats.
- Producing TikTok-first content that feels native to the feed, rather than simply recycling broadcast footage.
- Spotting trends, sounds, formats, memes and editing styles, then applying them quickly and creatively to racing content.
- Capturing content on-track at Victorian race meetings, including behind-the-scenes access, mounting yard colour, celebrations, atmosphere and participant personality.
- Self-shooting, self-editing and publishing from the track in real time.
- Building content that heroes the horse, jockey, trainer and owner by telling stories, not just posting results.
- Managing and moderating social channels, responding to audiences and helping build community in the Racing.com brand voice.
- Producing commercial, sponsor and partner-integrated content while maintaining audience trust and platform authenticity.
About You
You’re creative, fast, curious and hands-on.
You know how to make a moment work on social because you understand how people actually consume content. You don’t just know TikTok exists; you use it, understand it, study it and can explain why something works. You can spot a trend early, move quickly and translate it into content that makes sense for racing.
You’ll bring:
- Experience producing social video content, ideally in sport, media, broadcast or entertainment.
- Demonstrated experience clipping and repurposing live broadcast or live event footage into short-form content.
- A strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook and X, and how content needs to change across each platform.
- Hands-on experience shooting video and stills on location in fast-moving environments.
- Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Photoshop and After Effects.
- A creative eye and the ability to spot the moment, angle and story.
- Speed and accuracy under pressure, with the ability to produce high-quality content on live deadlines.
- Strong storytelling instincts and the ability to make racing accessible to new and casual audiences.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong feel for brand voice, tone and quality.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a role for someone who wants to be close to the action.
You’ll be working with live racing every week, turning premium broadcast and on-track access into content that grows audiences and makes people care. Social is a major part of Racing Victoria Group’s audience growth engine, with the PD identifying social as the channel where significant audience reach is delivered.
One day you might be clipping a photo finish within minutes of the race. The next, you might be capturing behind-the-scenes moments from the mounting yard, creating a TikTok trend around a jockey or trainer, or cutting a winner reaction for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
If you’re excited by sport, racing, live content, TikTok culture and the challenge of making traditional racing moments feel fresh, entertaining and relevant, this is the role.
What You’ll Need
- Availability to work weekends
- Availability for regular Friday and Thursday twilight and night racing.
- Capacity to scale output and on-track presence during Spring Carnival and other peak periods.
- Willingness to travel regionally and interstate, including occasional overnight stays.
- A current Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check, National Police Check and probity check.
